ARKIV & COMPANY is a small independent design studio based just outside Stockholm, Sweden.
We collaborate with industrial designers who see beyond the obvious, finding character in proportion, detail and simplicity.
A room does not need more things. It needs the right ones.
WHY ARKIV EXISTS
Some objects stay with us.
Not because we need them, but because they become part of how we live. Over time, they stop feeling like possessions and start feeling like they belong.
Those are the objects we care about.
ARKIV exists to create objects worth keeping. Objects that earn their place and continue to matter long after the newness has disappeared.
DESIGN THROUGH ITERATION
Good design rarely arrives fully formed.
Developing the candle cup meant finding a single geometry that could accommodate different candle sizes while holding each one securely.
Twenty 3D-printed prototypes later, we had it.
HOW WE WORK
Our objects are developed in Sweden and produced in small series by specialist manufacturers in Europe.
We stay closely involved throughout the process, from prototype to finished object and final packaging, with each component made, finished and checked with care.
Working in small series allows us to focus on the details that make the difference.
MATERIALS
STEEL
Laser-cut and precision-bent steel forms the structural foundation of our objects.
ALUMINIUM
Precision-machined aluminium with an unblasted finish.
POWDER COAT
Finished in Sweden with a fine-textured powder coat for a durable, tactile surface.
