ARKIV & COMPANY is an independent design studio based just outside Stockholm. Together with industrial designers, we create sculptural objects that bring character to the spaces you make your own.

Industrial design in small series takes time, specialist manufacturing and careful development. We sell directly to you, without a retailer in between.
Keeping that extra margin out of the price makes this kind of design more accessible. So you can choose a distinctive piece that changes the feel of your space, without the expense of replacing everything around it.
THE DETAILS TAKE TIME.
An object should work as carefully as it is shaped. For MONO 180, developing the candle cup meant testing how its geometry would accommodate variations in taper candles.
Twenty 3D-printed prototypes helped us refine the profile. The finished cup is machined from aluminium, turning those iterations into a detail you use every time you place a candle.

Our objects are developed in Sweden and made in small series by specialist manufacturers in Europe.
From the first prototype to the final finish, we stay involved in proportion, construction and material choices. A focused collection gives us room to refine each design and the details you see, feel and use.
MATERIALS WITH PRESENCE
STEEL
Laser-cut and precision-bent steel gives the objects their structure. Flowing contours create movement within a rigid material.
ALUMINIUM
MONO 180's candle cup is machined from solid aluminium, giving the functional detail a precise form.
POWDER COAT
A fine-textured powder coating gives the steel a matte, tactile surface in three considered colours.
